INTRODUCTION

La Tabaccheria, the most important company in Italy in manufacturing of natural tobacco extracts, in the last two years worked to the creation of lines of extracts intended not only for long-time vapers but also for all those who are beginners with the electronic cigarette and who approach the vape in the most user friendly way possible. Hence the Organic 4pod and Extreme 4pod lines and the consequent and more than deserved awards received by the roman company at the 2020 edition of the Vape Italian Tobacco Award established by The Flavourist.

At the end of last year, La Tabaccheria launched a third line of tobacco extracts designed especially for consumers who are used to buying ready-to-use e-liquids. The Black Line in fact, consists of 7 ready to vape e-liquids of 10 ml in different nicotine grades (from 0 to 16 mg / ml). As you can see from the image below, the e-liquids of the line are: Perique, Burley, Izmir, Latakia, Virginia, Kentucky and Cavendish.

The Flavourist, after starting his personal journey to discover the flavors of this new line of e-liquids, talking to you about the Latakia Black Line e-liquid, continues today with the review of the Burley Black Line, a tobacco quite distant from Latakia, both for organoleptic characteristics and for aromatic scents; Burley is probably the least considered and most underestimated tobacco in the vaping and not only field, always labeled as a simple seasoning tobacco, useful only for achieving and maintaining the aromatic balance within very complex and structured tobacco blends. In short, a stopgap of little interest. But yet…

SMELL TEST

The smell test, already in itself very often not very useful when speaking in general of natural tobacco extracts, with the appropriate exceptions referable to fire cured tobaccos and the so-called dark blends, in this case is totally unproductive, precisely because the characteristics aromatic herbs of Burley tobacco, and the selective purification process by La Tabaccheria, makes this e-liquid completely odorless on the nose. It is useless to look for scents that are not there, climbing up on extravagant hypotheses of perceptions of non-existent perfumes: on the smell Burley Black Line is a real ghost e-juice.

So I just have to put my hopes on the vape test, where I expect to find a tobacco that is still light but able to give significant aromatic perceptions in vaporization.

VAPE TEST

Devices: Innokin Sceptre Vogue coil 1.20 ohm + ExVape Expromizer V3 Fire single coil 1.15 ohm (Kanthal A1 28 AWG) with Fiber N’ Cotton.

For the review of the Burley Black Line I decided to use the Innokin Sceptre pod mod with 1.2 ohm coil for MTL and the RTA Expromizer V3 Fire atomizer built with a 1.15 ohm coil.

On vape Burley Black Line finally reveals its cards, masterfully hidden during the smell test, and shows itself as an e-liquid without excesses and very linear, clean and essential. Although I have not yet tasted all the tobaccos ofthis line, I can tell you that, for my experience gained in almost 10 years of vaping and for my aptitude to vape extracted tobaccos, this Burley Black Line should undoubtedly be placed at the forefront as an e-liquid to start vaping.

Those who start vaping, unless they come from a long experience with cigars and pipes, do not know the world of tobaccos, and therefore are not inclined to approach electronic smoking with too aromatic or even very strong and smoked liquids. From this point of view, the Burley of La Tabaccheria is the perfect starting e-liquid for the first vape experience.

Burley Black Line is a slightly aromatic liquid, with notes of grassy tobacco that lie on a dry and slightly woody background; a vape not rich aromatically speaking, but on the contrary without frills, dry and penetrating enough to deliver a rather analogue vape experience on the palate of the vaper. For a user at the beginning of his adventure as a vaper, who will probably be led especially at the beginning to compulsively vape, looking not for a real aromatic satisfaction, but rather a valid and less harmful alternative to the traditional cigarette, this e-liquid is a my opinion is the ideal choice.

The Black Line line is able, according to what the manufacturer tells us, to reach 50 ml of vaped e-liquid, before having to replace the headcoil of your pod mod or having to rebuild your RTA. I am not absolutely sure but I would bet that the Burley Black Line can easily exceed the 70 milliliter threshold. In the same way, its non-aromatic complexity makes it a tireless all-day e-juice, which will never stun the palate and the taste buds of the vaper, leaving the mouth always free of intrusive and cloying aftertaste.

BURLEY BLACK LINE FINAL VERDICT

After the overwhelming Latakia Black Line, even the taste experience with this Burley from the same line is in my opinion absolutely winning and convincing. The score and the aromatic scene are diametrically opposed to that of Latakia, but the value of this product is absolutely flawless if used as a handyman e-liquid and for the whole day, or as a real substitute for the traditional cigarette for those who have decided to start vaping.
